The world is truly into globalisation with the latest trends in fertility treatment. An Indian baby was born to a white couple who had sought fertility treatment and embryos in an Indian clinic after 18 years of trying unsuccessfully to conceive. The result was a baby with big, brown eyes, a dark complexion, and dark hair. She was a far cry from her white parents and auburn-haired mother. Yet the parents were ecstatic and so grateful for their baby that they were planning to go back for a second child. They claimed that the Indian clinic was clean, professional, and far more effective than the National Health Service (NHS).

You can put it in your mouth, or you can smear it all over your body. That’s the latest chocolate craze in Tokyo, Japan. Traditionally, Japanese women have given their boyfriends, husbands or male colleagues boxes of chocolates on Valentine’s Day, which are then reciprocated a month later. The more expensive the chocolate, the higher regard is held of the person. But in a reverse of tradition, Japanese women are now going for chocolate massage to pamper themselves. The upscale Prince Hotel in Tokyo offers overnight packages that cost up to ¥50,000 and include a 75-minute chocolate massage.

She graduated from the naval academy in 1985 and served in the navy before being recruited into National Aeronautics and Space Administration. She first joined the space programme in April 1996. She spent ten years at NASA and was finally selected to fly aboard the space shuttle in July 2006. The director of the Johnson Space Centre when she was selected for the space corps, George Abbey, recalled her as “an outstanding candidate” for the programme at that time.
