The Porcupine bookshelf is designed by Holly Palmer, UK. Porcupine bookshelf is a unique way to store your books. The bookshelf has 18 compartments in various sizes for holding your favorite book. When a book is removed, the fluorescent compartment is revealed behind. It is designed to sit beside a standard chair and available in four colors: white, blue, red and rainbow for around $1500.
“The concept behind this piece is one of negative spaces – the books negative representations are made permanent in the structure of the unit. The Name of the “Book Porcupine” is given in peference to its silhouette, the stout legs against the spines of the books sticking out at various angles and degrees.”
