Two types of exclusive commemorative medals of Beijing 2008 Olympic were displayed in Beijing on August 21, 2007. This is a flower-shaped medal using two types of materials, gold and jade, gold and silver. The commemorative medals also called “Olympic Moon Cakes” simply because it looks like a moon cake.
The authorization of the Organizing Committee of the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games only issued limited set of the medals, total issuance 3,400 pieces for gold and jade medals and 16,680 pieces for gold and silver medals.
