The Japan consumer electronics giant, Sony has introduced its next-gen EyeToy today, called the PlayStation Eye, for the PlayStation 3 (PS3) gaming console. The latest PlayStation Eye has a four-microphone array for multidirectional voice location tracking, enhanced echo canceling and background noise suppression.
“With the release of PlayStation Eye we will be able to dramatically enhance the consumer’s PS3 experience,” said Richard Marks, research and development at Sony Computer Entertainment America. ” The latest PlayStation Eye camera’s frame rate up to 120 frames per second allows for super-smooth video and sophisticated low-light operation means that the room doesn’t have to be brightly lit for the camera to deliver crisp, perfectly exposed video.
As conclude, the all-new PlayStation Eye is an accessory for voice, video chat and online gaming on the PlayStation Network. The PS3 Eye will be available in this coming summer, at an as-yet-unannounced price.
