xbThe latest XBox 360 Elite is competing directly with Sony’s PlayStation 3 and Nintendo’s Wii as part of the seventh generation of gaming systems.

And so what is the competitive advantage?

According to John Rodman, group product manager for the Xbox platform and Xbox Live:

“We don’t feel like the Wii customer and the Xbox customer are the same thing,” he said. “We think that as soon as the Wii customer turns 14 they want something else.”

Xbox 360 Elite is the newest addition to the Xbox family that comes with a huge 120GB hard drive (the largest available for any gaming console), a high-definition multimedia interface (HDMI) cable, DVD playback and a limited black finish. The Xbox 360 Elite also packaged with a black wireless controller and black Xbox Live headset which allows players to compete online.

The pricing of the Elite model will be at $479 in the US .For it does not come with HDDVD and built in WiFi which allows for online play is still not available on the system. However the add-on WiFi can be purchased for $120.

And with inclusion of HDMI on 360 will be a bad news for Sony(PS3) for it able t0 provide equal video quality.But the PS3’s BluRay or HDDVD built in for playing games which require more storage has the edge over 360 and hope the equally 120GB storage space may allow to play from there.

Nintendo’s latest console, the Wii. With motion sensing controls and fun, easy gameplay . But something on the Wii has even more than games like Zelda and Wii Sports, and that is the Miis.

A Mii is a digital personalized character that allow the user to capture in likeness or caricature the personality of themselves and others on the Wii through creating Miis.In another word , you can contort and tweak to look like a cartoony version of yourself to partake in the games.
