Pop Legend Elton John Celebrates His 60th Birthday In Concert

The British “Pop & Popular” singer, Elton John celebrated his 60th birthday Sunday night with a performance at New York’s Madison Square Garden & and raising his own record for most appearances at the storied New York venue. The celebrities who turned out included Bill Clinton, Elizabeth Hurley, Whoopi Goldberg, Sharon Stone, Richard Gere, Jon Bon Jovi, Robin Williams and Keifer Sutherland.
“I knew I had 59 shows here and I said the only place I wanted to be was in New York City at Madison Square Garden ,” Elton John said before later thanking the crowd for their “loyalty, love and support” in a three-hour long performance.
The Elton John’s birthday VIP famous guest included Pierce Brosnan, James Blunt, Michael Caine, Rosie O’Donnell, Barbara Walters, k.d. lang, Donatella Versace, Keifer Sutherland, Kid Rock, Liv Tyler, and Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne also attended.
The concert ended with, “Your Song,” which in 1971 gave John his first hit single in a career that eventually sold more than 200 million albums worldwide. Pop legend Sir Elton’s concert was shown live on the internet by MSN, and was recorded for worldwide TV specials, including one airing on ITV1 on Thursday.
