Gong Li, who is making headways in Hollywood with her latest film “Hannibal Rising,” lands at 34 on the Top 99 Most Desirable Women of 2007, while 27-year-old Zhang Ziyi, also internationally acknowledged for her appearances in several Hollywood films, ranks far behind at 83.
More than 8.5 million people are reported to have taken part in the global vote.
Gong Li and Zhang Ziyi will compete for the Best Actress Award in the first Asian Film Awards, to be held on March 20th in Hong Kong.
Gong Li has been nominated for her performance in “Curse of the Golden Flower,” which has already helped her win the Best Actress Award of the 13th Hong Kong Film Critics Society Awards.
Zhang Ziyi was nominated for “The Banquet.”
