If you’re caught cheating on your spouse in Michigan, you’re technically committing felony in the eyes of the law. According to the state law, the offence is deemed a first-degree sexual crime, punishable by up to life in jail. Interpreting the law literally according to statutory language means that a person who engages in sexual penetration in an adulterous relationship is guilty of the crime.
