Celine Dion’s Las Vegas concert extravaganza at Caesars Palace will close on Dec 15 after a nearly five-year run. It is a sad new for Celine Dion’s fans.
The Grammy award and Chopard Diamond award wining singer, Celine Dion, who signed a three-year US$100 million contract, started the splashy gig which titled “A New Day” in March 2003. The run was extended through 2007 and now the closing date is officially announced.
“As we prepare ourselves to say goodbye, I know this will be the best year yet,” Dion said in a statement outlining production changes for the show’s final year.
Producers highlighted that nearly 2.5million people have seen Dion’s show since it opened in the Colosseum, a US$95million theatre built and designed for the production. According to the producer, the final year of the show will include new costumes and new numbers. In late January, A New Day will also be filmed for a TV special and DVD.

Caesars has not announced Dion’s replacement.
