Guru, the latest movie directed by Mani Ratnam is scheduled to be released on January 12, 2007. It stars Abhishek Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai, Madhavan and Vidya Balan. The movie also stars Mithun Chakraborty in a supporting role and Mallika Sherawat in a cameo role. The movie will also be dubbed in Tamil and Telugu.
The filming took place in Turkey, and Badami, Karnataka as well as in Chennai and Madurai, Tamil Nadu. Legendary A. R. Rahman composes the film’s musical score and soundtrack.
The story is set in the 1960s where Abhishek Bachchan holds the role of a villager and how he matures from a boy to a man. He is from a small village who wants to become the biggest entrepreneur in Indian history. It tells how he follows his dreams, his visions and how successful he becomes eventually. A villager, a visionary, a winner, that is what ‘Guru’ is all about.
